The Opportunity
The role of Safety & Risk Officer will support, develop
and maintain a consistent health, safety, risk and compliance culture across
our organisation. The role will work closely with key stakeholders to support
programs of work that enhance the physical and psychological safety of staff.
By bringing your passion for safety and your expert
understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, you will
enhance the delivery of safe systems of work, improve psychological safety, and
support our work environment enabling our staff to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure OHS
Management Systems are maintained in compliance with relevant legislation,
standards and organisational policies and procedures.
- Provide
support, coaching and advice to people leaders and staff to continuously
improve health and safety.
- Take a
proactive approach to physical and psychological hazard identification and
management.
- Play an
active role in incident investigations, identifying root causes and
coordinating corrective actions and incident reporting.
- Develop
and maintain health and safety systems with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Be a key
part of projects and initiatives that have a focus on enhancing organisational
health and safety.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualifications
in Compliance, Risk Management, Work Health, Safety, or a related discipline
combined with experience working in a similar role.
- An
understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, including the
emerging framework concerning psychological risks.
- A proven
track record of contributing to a safety focused organisational culture,
through dynamic projects, and strategies.
- Experience
leading investigations and making recommendations on occupational health and
safety matters, ensuring positive outcomes for individuals and the
organisation.
- An ability
to understand and support the feminist philosophy and principles of our
organisation.
